East Valley Metropolitan District Website Accessibility Statement

Technology Accessibility Statement - July 1, 2025

The East Valley Metropolitan District (the “District”) is committed to continued work to maintain an accessible website as described in the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and HB21-1110 and HB24-1454 (the “accessibility standards”). These accessibility standards help make technology accessible not only to users with sensory, cognitive and mobility disabilities, but ultimately to all users, regardless of ability.

The District’s efforts are part of a meaningful change in making all State of Colorado services inclusive and accessible. The District welcomes comments on how to improve accessibility for users with disabilities and for requests for accommodation for any of our services.

The District has an Accessibility Plan and Progress Report which can be accessed using the following link: https://eastvalleywater.org/accessibility

HOW THE DISTRICT IS IMPLEMENTING ACCESSIBILITY

Website Scanning and Document Remediation

The District is conducting monthly accessibility scans of the District’s website to ensure compliance with the most up-to-date Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). In addition, the District is working with the website platform to improve and implement accessibility features. To provide ongoing improvements to the website, the District is continuously remediating public documents to ensure accessibility for all users.

Accessibility Training

To ensure the District is up to date on accessibility efforts and improvements, the District participates in webinars and reviews the guidance provided by Streamline and the Special District Association on the topic of accessibility. The District also monitors statutory updates on the guidance provided by the Colorado Governor’s Office of Information Technology.

Procurement

The District requires contractors and consultants to comply with all federal, state, and local laws, statutes, ordinances, codes, guidelines, court ruling and orders of all governmental authorities applicable to the services or work being performed, including accessibility requirements.

CONTACT US

The District welcomes your feedback on how to improve the technology accessibility of the website. All requests are considered on a case-by-case basis, and the District’s compliance officer will reply to all communication in a timely manner. Reasonable accommodation or modifications are provided at no cost. Accommodation requests that would impose an undue financial, technical or administrative burden to the District may not be fulfilled as requested.

Some examples of accommodation requests include the use of built-in live transcription tools during virtual board meetings, alternative document formats (such as large print), or remediating PDFs.

Please let us know if you encounter any accessibility barriers or would like to request assistance at any of the contact information below.
